Yin yoga + live music + meditation = magic
“And I told you to be patient, And told you to be fine, And I told you to be balanced, And I told you to be kind”. As I listened to these words vibrate around my studio yesterday during the yin yoga concert that closed the April Bilbao Yoga Retreat, Adam Giles Levy’s mesmerizing voice bringing tears to every yogi’s eyes, I couldn’t help but feel that the Buddha was directly spreading his message to us.
Yin yoga is one almighty powerful form of yoga in which you hold poses for up to 7 minutes at a time, battling with the mind, the body, distractions, emotions and finally slipping into a deep consciousness of inner peace, insight and joy. Do you know that you can never solve anything by trying, everything happens when you are still, quiet and truly awake - you need to create space to see the trees in your forest.
Everyone is struggling through their own dilemmas in life; some financial, some regarding family matters, worrying about the past, the future, heartbreaks, frustrations and yesterday a big group of us came together and celebrated our desire to grow, develop and transform our lives and find happiness.
If you truly want to make changes in your life you have to quieten the mind, learn to meditate (try my free guided ten minute morning meditation video here), try and make it to a yoga class and enjoy being alone for periods of the day, taking a bath, reading a book. All your answers are within.
With true love and respect I honour my heart, my inner teacher.
